Development Team Description-Explore and Grow with Robotics

The Development Team at Knuckle Sandwich Robotics is perfect for students who are new to robotics or those who want to enjoy robotics in a less competitive, more exploratory setting. This team focuses on learning the basics of robotics, including design, building, and basic programming. Members will have the opportunity to participate in tournaments, but with a focus on learning and enjoyment rather than competitive performance. The commitment level is flexible, accommodating members who are exploring their interests in STEM without the pressure of intense competition.

For those who are ready to take their robotics skills to the next level, the Competition Team offers a more rigorous and competitive environment. Members of this team are expected to commit to a more intensive practice schedule and participate actively in higher-stakes tournaments. The team aims not only to build robots but also to strategize and refine their designs and programming to excel in competitions. This is ideal for students who are serious about robotics and are looking for an opportunity to challenge themselves and compete at a high level.

By joining either team, students will gain valuable skills and experiences. Whether looking to explore robotics casually or compete seriously, there is a place for everyone at Knuckle Sandwich Robotics.

• We are hoping to have 4 teams, 2 elementary and 2 middle school teams. Each team has 4-6 students. 
• Our season runs from June -May 15 (approx). --Development teams start having practice starting in September. 
• -We usually practice 2 times per week for 90 minutes. Not all practices are mandatory. 
• Some travel will be required. Most of the tournaments are within 3 hours driving. If the team makes it to the World Championship, that is in Dallas. Travel expenses are the responsibility of each participant. 
• There is no cost to join, but participants will be required to participate in fundraising events to offset costs.
